>> Groundworks / Civil Engineering
Whilst Lorclon offers a wide range of services to the building industry it is in the area groundworks
that we specialise . We are beginning to get a lot of
repeat work in earthworks, drainage, ducting, reinforced
concrete, underpinning and all aspects of external works
as a result of a hands on approach that is second to
none.

We recognise that working in harmony with the client on all aspects at all stages of the project can lead to all round satisfaction and long term relationships.
Lorclon has done much work in the last year for petrochemical industry where we re-develop and develop petrol forecourts with all the associated groundworks.

Park, Stratford
Olympic Park, Stratford
Main Contractor: VolkerFitzpatrick
The scope of work included :
-
Temporary works – roads. With the
access routes within the site continuously changing
as work progresses we have been involved with the
construction of the temporary roads throughout the
site.
-
Permanent works - Lifeline Road
Lea Interchange. The project also includes the
reconstruction of the north plaza entrance to the
park for the games phase of 2012, the construction
of retaining walls with gabion basket fronts between
the north of the park and the A12 and the
redevelopment of the A12 Leytonstone slip road,
including the rerouting of services.
-
Waterworks Wharf - RC Slabs and
groundworks including road construction, drainage
and the installation of an interceptor
-
The North and South Plaza, SOC
and OPEPO centres. The North and South plaza‟ for
the Olympic park are the only vehicle access and
included groundworks and reinforced concrete works
including drainage. Similar contracts were carried
out within the SOC and OPEPO centre on the perimeter
of the park.
Apprentices Centre
During the project we were asked if
we could assist the ODA in providing, at short notice, a
building to induct and train apprentices. We recognised
that this would need an innovative solution to meet the
tight time and budget restraints. The apprentices centre
was constructed in the centre of the park over a 2 week
period. The structure was formed with modular units
covered with a timber framed roof with traditional slate
tiles. The inside was plastered and carpeted while the
outside was rendered. The ODA were delighted with the
quality of the end-product.
All milestones to date completed on
time and to budget.
