DLR Stratford - Stratford International, Stratford

Grant Rail
The scope of works was to extend the DLR networks
from Canning Town station to Stratford International
Station. This involved the removal of the platforms
and tracks and the refurbishment and remodelling of
the stations. The works encompassed extensive road
and utility diversions.
The purpose of the works is to cut rail time
making Stratford and surrounding areas more
accessible for the new and upcoming Westfield
Shopping Centre, Olympic Games and the regeneration
of East London. The stations improved were Canning
Town, Star Lane, Abbey Road, West Ham, Stratford
Regional and Stratford International.
We worked closely with Skanska/Grant Rail in the
development of these projects. We also worked
collaboratively with other subcontractors throughout
the project and in doing so have affiliated
ourselves with the Considerate Constructor scheme
operated by the London Borough of Newham. Works
carried out on these projects ranged from demolition
works, earthworks, groundwork's, foundations and the
construction of RC walls and platforms through to
the construction of new control rooms with the
installation of new drainage and services.
Works completed on time and to budget.
