>> DLR Stratford - Stratford International, Stratford Regional

Main Contractor: SKANSKA/ Grant Rail

The scope of works was to extend the DLR networks from Canning Town station to Stratford International Station. This involved the removal of the platforms and tracks and the refurbishment and remodelling of the stations. The works encompassed extensive road and utility diversions.

Description

We were engaged on the DLR 3 Car Enhancement project at Royal Victoria Station. This was the fifth station which we have been involved in with Taylor Woodrow Construction. The scheme involved platform extension on all DLR stations. We commenced work at Royal Victoria Station in mid February 2009.

>> Breakespeare Embankment Stabilisation and Landscaping Works

Description

This was a slope stabilisation project on the Chiltern Line to resolve problem with extensive shallow and locally deep failures. Work included a full Earthworks and Drainage fix combined with a soil nailed gabion shoulder retaining wall.

>> FTN - Fixed Telecoms Network

The Network Rail fixed Telecoms network project consisted of the establishment of a national telecoms network connecting all of the fixed locations across the rail network. It involved the renewal and installation of a troughing route and the connection signal bases, LOC bases and REB bases. Lorclon Ltd worked on FTN Chippenham, FTN Gloucester and Cherwell Valley FTN over a period of eighteen months.

>>Hendon, Cockfosters and Totteridge Stations

Lorclon installed the Duck work to Hendon, Cockfosters and Totteridge station platforms as part of the station modernisation programs. The work which was particularly Labour - intensive was carried out in a series of week-end possessions that required large quantities of labour to carry out these works, which were executed in a safe and timely manor.

>>Morden

Refurbishment works to Morden station. Works incorporated the construction of SFA lift shafts. Installation of GRP duct systems to all platforms and the installation of drainage systems to the platform and station rear car park.

>> Colindale Station

Refurbishment works to Colindale station. These works incorporated the installation of ducts including draw pits to the platform. Installation of stair nosing to existing staircases. Painting of existing steel trusswork and timber canopy. Construction of concrete bases for columns to platforms.

>>Golders Green Station Improvments

Refurbishment works were carried out for YJL as well as carrying out platform extension works and various intrusive surveys (with our specialist confined space teams) we undertook a complete builder works package involved in a thorough refurbishment of the station from top to bottom. Lorclon carried out the entire brickwork, carpentry, rendering and tiling packages along with all the masonry cleaning. A feature of our work here is that we manufacturing and fitted balance board for the station canopy.

>> Dockland Light Railway

The DRL is being enhanced in capacity from to carriages to three carriages. To facilitate this, the paltforms require lengthening Lorclon are undertaking the construction of all the foundation works to several of these stations. Lorclon are working closely with Taylor Woodrow construction to find the best solutions for the challenge of maintaining the stations for the public while carrying out the works.
