The installation of the hydraulic flume in the inlet chamber at Acton Storm Tanks was carried out 113 days ahead of schedule.
BMB worked in close collaboration with sub-contractor Lorclon to identify improvements to the inlet chamber works. This enabled modification works to be carried out simultaneously with the adjacent Interception chamber construction whilst liaising with Thames Water as required to gain Asset Protection Agreement consents.
The hydraulic flume now enables works to commence beneath the bypass channel for the new Inlet chamber construction. The flume will remain in place until system-wide commissioning occurs in 2024, at which point it may well be the last flume to be removed across the entire Tideway programme.
This is a phenomenal achievement for the whole construction team, as they continuously look for opportunities to reduce the overall construction duration at ACTST. Well done!
